Mother's Day

We had a great Mother's Day. It started off with Addilyn's dedication. Lots of family came to church with us to support her and I was so thankful! After church we went over to my MIL's. It was great! BBQ chicken, baked beans, dirty rice, potato salad and I made a strawberry cake for dessert. YUM! I am going to work on taking pictures of our food. I am really starting to love to cook and doing a pretty good job, according to my husband. ANYWAY, back to Mother's Day, Braxton and Addilyn got me a pretty wind chime and an apron. I have been asking for an apron for about a year now. So, I kind of took matters in my own hands. I sent Junior an email with different kinds of aprons linked to it. I wrote him that it would be a great Mother's Day present. My hubby LOVED this. Guess I'm going to have to do that more often. He got what he wanted and I did too! It was a great day!

Baby Dedication

Today was such a special day. Not only was it Mother's Day, but it was also Addilyn's baby dedication. We do this just to publicly proclaim that we will raise our child in a Godly home.

So love the LORD your God with all your heart, soul, and strength. Memorize his laws and tell them to your children over and over again. Talk about them all the time, whether you're at home or walking along the road or going to bed at night, or getting up in the morning. Write down copies and tie them to your wrists and foreheads to help you obey them. Write these laws on the door frames of your homes and on your town gates.

DEUTERONOMY 6: 5-9

This scripture for me is so convicting, but inspiring all in one. This is how I want to be. Talking to my children about the Lord over and over again, all day, writing them down, tying them to my wrists. I strive to be this person. All the things of the world just get in the way. I think my main problem is time restraints. The hurry up we are going to be late thing. There is always something. I wish we can just slow down and enjoy the time we have without having to rush, rush, rush. This is something I am going to work towards. Slowing down!!!! AND on that note I AM SO EXCITED..... 12 more full days and 2 more half days of school! I am counting down! I will leave you with some precious pics of our babies dedication.

My mom said that Junior needs to take lessons on how to hold a baby. All you can see is his big hand. Hehe!
